Now it is 1985 and the world is still in ruins. With Gellert Grindelwald outing Tom Riddle as Minister of Magic, Grindelwald started his reign with a bang. The death of three hundred muggles between November 9th and 10th, 1984 was when the world really did change. Orwell had no idea how true his works would become during the next few months. Starting with the exodus of muggleborn witches and wizards from the center of London into the country, it was clear that he was going to take a much more drastic attempt at pushing the magical world into supremacy. Laws pushed into place quickly, using fear as the best tactic, cemented the idea that muggleborns were no longer welcome within Grindelwald's England. Along with his handful of assistants, he now controls all of Europe using those below him to run the day to day basics of his office.

Closing Hogwarts before the end of the Christmas holidays, Grindelwald forced those of mportance into either Durmstrang or Beauxbatons and those of muggleborn status were told they were no longer welcome within the walls of any institution. The last decree, given to the magical world on January 20, 1985 brought about the biggest change so far. The Decree for the Preservation of Magical Status issued a list of spells allowed to be performed by muggleborn wizards, limiting the usage of spells to very basic magic and even then, highly controlled by officials named the Black Caps, thanks to their uniform hats in black. They are given permission to punish muggleborns caught in anyway they feel necessary. So far, fifteen deaths have occurred from the team of Black Caps.

But, it isn't all dark within Europe. There are those still fighting. The Order is still being led by Alastor Moody, Sirius and Regulus Black, slowly gaining members and doing what they can to fight a force that seems to be never ending. They are joined by those still loyal to Voldemort. The Death Eaters had a choice to make watching their leader be tried and sentenced for treason, those that stayed loyal went into hiding and those that didn't joined up with the Black Caps. Those in hiding are trying their best to band together, to find their kind and to bring about Grindelwald's downfall. Some have even fled to the Order forgetting the idea of the Death Eaters and trying to just survive in the world. The Order does what they can, teaming up with the remaining members of the Ashwinder Coalition to broadcast journal hacks to everyone still part of the connection. They are small rays of sunshine in the dark, doing their best to keep the moral of everyone up.

There are also two countries still fighting the grip of Grindelwald, Finland and Belgium have resisted the invasion of his army. Within those two countries, muggleborns can live and thrive however they wish. They are in the process of setting up cities for the misplaced and mistreated wizards under Grindelward's control, but they can only do so much. It will take a massive force to upset the world as it is, and the muggleborns can only hope that it comes soon.
